HONGKONG: PANESE ANTI-CHOLERA LEASURES
Hongking: Effective anti- epidemic measures by Health Department of the Hongkong Government-General, have brought about (passage indistinct). in cholera cases. The number of cases under Nippon administration compares favourably with those under British rule.
This year, 112,000 persons received cholera inoculations. In 1940 and 1941, when Hongkong was under British rule, there were 836 and 615 cholera cases respectively. In 1940, 386 people died of cholera and in 1941, 135: Cholera cas s in 1942, under Nippon administration, numbered only 274 - a drop of 68 per cent compared with 1940. Deaths Last year totalled only 73 - 20 per cent of the number recorded two years ago.
